Subject: SPCAA NEWSLETTER NOVEMBER 2007

Dear fellow alumni,

As we're enjoying the breezy weather and the much-missed blue sky, we're also looking forward to an eventful November for SPCAA:

1. SPC Sponsored Walk
The SPC Students' Association (SA) will be having their yearly Sponsored Walk on 3 November (Saturday). The event is to raise money for the SA, which would use the fund to support activities and welfare for students.

The walk will begin at 8:30am at the School entrance. End point will be the peak. I myself was there last year, and enjoyed very much the fresh air and the chat with students and teachers.

For more details to the event, and for SA's letter to us, please visit http://www.alumni.org.hk.

Please reach me if you wish to join. Or, simply turn up that morning!

2. Mentorship
This is a final call for mentors for Mentorship 2007-08. Those who were mentors in the past years agree that it was a great chance to meet students, share life experience with them, and know about mentality and lifestyle of nowadays' teenagers. If you're interested, please reach Alan Chiu (alanphchiu@gmail.com / 98370692) as soon as you can.

3. Happy Hour
The November Happy Hour will be on 13 November (Tuesday) at 7:00pm at the usual place, Fringe Club. We had over 40 alumni last time, and we all cherished the talking and the drinking.

Hope to see you in November.

With regards,
Francis Hon

spb Beyond 66 #4: College Song

This is our College Song, which is extracted from website:
http://www.spc.edu.hk/profile/song.php

It will be sung at our Grand Re-union on Nov. 2, 2007.

/////////////////////////////

College Song

Once again we here foregather,
pledge obedience to this rule:
That we ever will be faithful to the teachings
of our School.
Justice, Honour, Truth and Virtue
shall the watchwords be for all.
We thy sons who learnt these precepts
in the College of St. Paul,
Brothers here we stand together
all for each and each for all.
Down the years we will be faithful
to the College of St. Paul.

spb Beyond 66 #3: School Principal

For those who have not seen the School Principal, Dr. John Kennard, here are his photo and message as extracted from the spc website at:

Principal's Message

Located in the heart of Hong Kong, St. Paul's College is able to draw on the diverse opportunities afforded by a modern international city. The world is certainly in our pupils' hands.

Although we are the oldest school founded in Hong Kong, we are not resting on our laurels. Our commitment to academic endeavour, leadership and global awareness will ensure that Paulines are well-equipped to succeed in an increasingly complex world. The twenty-first century will make ever greater demands for the qualities and values instilled by an education at St. Paul's College.

The spirit of the College is seen in the broadly based, life-enriching experiences that encourage our pupils to develop a lasting sense of moral, social and spiritual responsibility.

We look forward to inviting you into our College family.

Dr. John Kennard - Principal
